How to Play 90 Ball Bingo

90 Ball Bingo is the most popular version of bingo played on homesoil.  They also love it in New Zealand too!  90 ball bingo tends to be a favourite for online players becasue it dishes out the biggest jackpots also gives bingo players more chances to win.  Prize  can be won in each game for single-line, double-line and Full House Bingos.

The 90 ball bingo games start by players purchasing unique tickets (or cards). The price of tickets depends entirely on the bingo room you play in and the size of the jackpot. Normally there’s a limit for the amount of cards you can buy for each game (around 90); but by buying more tickets, you can dramatically increase your chances of winning the game and taking down a lucious jackpot!

90 Ball Bingo Card

Each card has 3 rows and 9 columns creating 27 spaces in total.  The first column contains the numbers 1-9, the second column has 10 to 19 and the third column has 20-29.  This continues for each column until the last one which contains the numbers 80 to 90.  Importantly, each column includes 5 numbers and 4 spaces, which means every ticket you buy only has 15 numbers total – this is necessary in order to produce unique tickets.

90 ball bingo starts by the teller calling out bingo numbers one at a time.  As each number is called you should cross it off from your ticket or card using a special “dauber”.   In online bingo this is done automatically for you. The teller continues to call out numbers until someone has completed the first horizontal line (BINGO), 2nd line, or all 3 lines (Full House).  Prizes are awarded according to the winners, who must be alert enough to shout out Bingo and attract the host.  In some places players will shout out other things such as House or YES! regardless of what they’ve won.

The prizes for 90 ball bingo are always pre-determined by the cost of your ticket.  A typical 90 ball bingo game will dish out £100 for 1p games and up to £1,000 for 10p games.  The higher the price of your ticket, the larger the prize, for example, some bingo rooms will occasionally offer high roller bingo games at the end of the month with prizes worth more than £15,000 for a £1 ticket.  The biggest prize in 90 ball bingo is Full House (when you cross off all 15 numbers.  Obviously, if there are 2 or more simultaneously winners then the prizes are shared equally.

Every online bingo room has a special progressive jackpot that can range up to £100,000 for winning Full House. To earn this, players must win Full House within a minimum number of balls called out.  In William Hill Bingo for instance, the minimum numbers called out to win the hundred thousand pound jackpot is 29.  Unfortunately the actual odds of winning Full House Bingo is extremely small and almost “lottery” like.  You need a minimum of 25 numbers called out to win Full House, but the real odds of this happening are 1 in 14010105962.

When playing 90 ball bingo online, there are a number of features which make the game easier.  Best Card Sorting and Best Card Highlighting automatically display your best cards and how close you are to winning, which prevents you having to check each card individually and miss a Bingo win accidentally.
