How to Play 80 Ball Bingo
80 ball bingo has sharply risen in popularity due to it’s speediness and shorter playing time. This newer faster version of 75 bill bingo was exploited by bingo sites as a means of offering more games to players. It’s almost identical to its 75 ball counterpart. You’ll commonly find 80 ball bingo nicknamed “Speed Bingo” by online bingo sites because of its faster pace.
A typical 80 ball bingo consists of 16 squares in total i.e. 4×4 boxes. The first column contains the numbers 1 to 20, the 2nd column contains 21 to 40, the 3rd column contains 41 to 60 and the last column contains the final numbers 61 to 80. The key difference between 75 and 80 ball bingo is that each column on the 80 ball bingo card has a different colour (red, yellow, blue and silver). There are no free spaces or gaps in contrast to 75 and 90 ball cards.
The winner of 80 ball bingo is the player who marks off his numbers in a pre-determined pattern. Just like 75 ball bingo, the pattern could be 4 balls in a vertical or horizontal line, “Corners”, “Blackout Bingo” or “Big X”. In total there are over 50 different types of structures that can be set. Obviously, because there are only 4 squares to full for a single-line victory, the 80 ball version is over much quicker than 75 ball or 90 ball games.
